Oak Meadow Montessori School is thrilled to welcome Chiara Pidatella, our new art teacher, to our vibrant learning community. With a PhD in Art History and a passion for helping children discover their creative voices, Chiara brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and creativity to our classrooms.
Chiara’s approach to art education is a perfect fit for our “Beyond Basics” philosophy and Montessori program, emphasizing autonomy and exploration. From Beginners to Middle School, students are empowered to choose materials, techniques, and themes that resonate with their interests, fostering creativity and independence. For our youngest learners in Children’s House, Chiara prioritizes process art that inspires curiosity and joy. As students progress through Lower and Upper Elementary, they delve into advanced techniques and connect their art to broader cultural and historical studies. Middle School students are given even more freedom to explore their personal expression, supported by Chiara’s guidance to reflect critically on their work and its meaning.
Chiara describes her teaching philosophy as “it is all about the process, not the outcome”—a space where they can freely explore and express their emotions, ideas, and creativity.
