Ethnobotany/Wild edibles

October 9, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and explore the world of Ethnobotany – how cultures use plants for food, medicine, shelter, clothing, transportation, etc. – with Stephen DeFlorio, our own Oak Meadow Naturalist. With over 180 wild edibles in New England, there are a lot of plants to learn about, many of which are invasive, so-called weeds, and are some of the most densely packed nutritional powerhouses for food and medicine. The class will focus on wild edibles but will also cover medicinals such as lip balms, salves, tinctures, poultices, etc.

This program is open to current parents, faculty/staff, and students in Lower Elementary through Middle School.

Cost: $40.00 per person
