Drop Everything and Read!
Originating from a reference in the book “Ramona Quimby, Age 8,” by Beverly Cleary, D.E.A.R. Day has evolved as a national celebration. Students typically come to school dressed in comfort clothes or pajamas and enjoy self-directed reading or reading activities for part of the day. Please refer to your classroom communications for specific information on how D.E.A.R. Day will be celebrated in your child’s classroom.
