Jamie is a veteran head of school who has spent over twenty-five years heading project-based and child-centered schools. He is a passionate educator with a track record of growing enrollment and building curricula that promote critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills. A proponent of experiential and place-based learning, Jamie has studied, taught, or lived in over 45 countries.

At his most recent school, Minnesota’s Marshall School, Jamie designed and launched a forest elementary school for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Before Marshall, Jamie served as head of school at THINK Global School, an international traveling boarding school whose students live and learn in four different countries each year.

Jamie shares, “I have a deep commitment to the principles of the Montessori method;  My professional journey has been guided by a passion for self-directed learning, individualized instruction, and the importance of creating prepared environments that inspire curiosity and independence in students.”

Jamie earned a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and a bachelor’s of arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in political science. Jamie grew up in Green Bay and currently lives back in Wisconsin on the South Shore of Lake Superior with his wife, Angie Tenebrini, with whom he shares three globe-trotting children: Charlotte, Finn, and Piper.
