Upper Elementary Lead Teacher (Grades 4 - 5)

Oak Meadow School seeks an experienced teacher for our Upper Elementary Program (grades 4-5) for the 2019-20 school year. Candidates should have a particular passion for working with students in the Upper Elementary years and will work in a highly collaborative way to plan the curriculum for the school year, integrating Montessori method, research-based innovative teaching practices, and social-emotional learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree required and MA preferred
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • A strong foundation in and understanding of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy
  • Interest in current educational research about innovation and social-emotional learning
  • Commitment to guiding children in the discovery of their own unique talents and potential
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuing education
  • Montessori certification 6-12 is preferred (training is available for a qualified candidate: Montessori certification/training is required as part of the commitment)

Oak Meadow School seeks an experienced person to assist in our Upper Elementary Program (grades 4 – 6) for the 2019-20 school year. This position will involve collaboration with the Lead Teachers, with the following primary responsibilities:

  • maintaining an organized, tidy and prepared environment
  • supporting the administrative routines of the classroom (attendance/corrections/ordering materials…)
  • with guidance from the Lead Teachers, facilitating the learning process for children
  • promoting/preserving a nurturing and stimulating learning environment
  • assisting student groups with transitions (arrivals/dismissals/class-class)
  • co-supervising student groups (lunch/recess/field trips)
  • actively and clearly communicating with Lead Teachers on behalf of student learning and well-being

Children's House Assistant Teacher (Ages 3 - 6 yrs.)

  • assisting the children during various transitions throughout the day and week
  • co-supervising groups activities (lunch/recess)
  • actively and clearly communicating with Lead Teachers on behalf of student learning and well-being

Beginners Assistant Teacher (Ages 15 mos. - 3 yrs.)

Oak Meadow School seeks a highly motivated and energetic person to assist in our Beginners Program (ages 15 months – 3 years) for the 2019-20 school year. Candidates should have experience working with this age group; however, Montessori training is not required. Responsibilities include supporting the lead teacher in providing a safe environment where children are encouraged to learn by doing. The position is full-time.

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Oak Meadow seeks an Administrative Assistant to manage the front desk. This individual is the face of the school and the first person to meet and greet parents, children, and vendors. A successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, friendly demeanor, and comfort with Word and Excel. Specific duties include

  • answering phones and transferring calls
  • providing access to visitors
  • some administrative support of the Head of School, Admissions, and the Business Office
  • assisting with events
  • managing schedules for conference rooms and the Head of School
  • assisting with student records and mailings
